Love is not the covering of sin but radical confrontation. Humanity has abused the idea of forgiveness, and moral decline grows ever more severe.
Whoever keeps silent about evil in the name of peace and letting go is not a peacemaker but an accomplice. The sin of omission — sloth towards the good — is the gap in the shield through which corruption breaks in.
Repentance is the beginning; it must be followed by restitution and concrete good deeds.
